Winter Dipper end of season social and meeting

Sunday 7th April 2019 12.30am - 3pm

12.30noon to 3pm Social and swim

The Winter Dippers End of Season Party will now be on Sunday 7th April. This will be a chance to celebrate our achievements and the fact that we've made it through the Winter.

Please come! As usual, the event will take place at the Lake within normal session times with food and celebrations from 12:30. The food theme this time will be curries and please bring a food contribution if you can: Sarah will be bringing chicken curry, dhal, rice salad and other treats. Some suggestions for contributions are: Savoury Indian breads; Indian snacks and dips / relishes; More curries and side dishes - meat and veggie; Indian sweets. There will be a fire, music and, of course, a warming concoction from Mark. If you are able to help out with the event in any way, please have a word with Sarah at the Lake next weekend.

We've had a lovely season with our share of exciting snow and ice moments and also bright days giving us the chance to sit outside post swim chatting over a hot drink and a cake. Well done to all and particularly the many new dippers who joined us this season and have made it through the Winter. We hope you have enjoyed the season.

The winter dipper badges will be available from 7th April

Just to let you know, our end of season event is also being attended by:

- BBC Inside Out West - who would like to feature us in an episode later in the summer about our centenary year. They would like to do some filming and perhaps talk to a couple of dippers.

- BBC Radio 3 - are making an episode about Roger Deakins and Waterlog, which the Lake featured in. They would like talk to any dippers who have been inspired by the book.

- There is also a uni student (contact via Liz Banks) who would like to talk to a couple of dippers.

- If you are happy to be involved with these things that's great, but there's no obligation so just do what you are comfortable with on the day.

Hope you enjoy the end of season jolly!
