Summer Swimming Season Starts

Wednesday 29th April 11am

The Lake opens for the summer swimming season. If you start swimming now the water will feel like a bath by the time July comes. Free refreshments will be served 2-2.30pm to celebrate the start of the season.

Sunday Morning Triathlon and Open Water Swimming Training Sessions Start

Sunday 10th May - Sunday 6th September from 9am

Length swimming for triathlon and Open Water Swimming Training. Please note: lake is not open for general swimming until 11am. Sunday Mornings 9.00am to 11am (from 10th May until 5th September)

Guided Tours Of The Lake

Saturday 16th May

Open to members, their guests, and the general public. An opportunity to learn more about the Lake, it’s history and nature, and see normally restricted areas of the Lake including the white lily beds at the north end of the Lake. Tours will start at 11am, 12noon and 1pm. The tours are free and open to members and to the general public.

Friday Early Morning Swimming Starts

Friday 22nd May 7am onwards

Have a swim before you go to work or just come early and stay on - sauna will be available. Breakfast will be served once a month on the last Friday of the month.

An opportunity to camp overnight and to wake up at the Lake in the morning. LIMITED to 15 pitches (may include more than one tent in a ‘family’ group.)

A weekend of events to help relive the Club's Centenary Celebrations of 2019 and create some new memories! Friday 10th July – Gala camping night & Silent disco Saturday 11th July - Gala night with music, byo wine and shared buffet Sunday 12th July – Swimming gala midday, slow swim & picnic in the afternoon – refreshments served.

Long swims begin at 3pm, 3.30pm, 4pm and 4.30pm. Swim or walk to the far end of the lake. 1933 style certificates for long lake swimmers. For safety reasons the diving boards will be closed. If you intend to do a long distance swim please start early.

End of season swim and celebration

Sunday 4th October

Come and say your goodbyes to the Lake for another summer season (or why not sign up for winter swimming). Prize draw for swimmers (winner of the prize draw must attend AGM 2020 to be eligible for prize) and refreshments provided between 1-3pm

Annual General Meeting and Shared Supper

Tuesday 1st December 2020. 7.30pm - 10.00pm

Not just the formal business of the Club but a chance to put forward your own ideas about the Club, stand for the committee or just have a drink and a chat with other members after the formal business has finished.

New Years Day Gathering

Friday 1st January 2020 12.00 noon – 1.30pm

Get out of the house after the seasonal debauchery! Dream about the summer to come and, if you are a little crazy, take a quick dip in what is likely to be extremely cold water. Seniors members only can enjoy an icy swim or just come along for the mulled wine and mince pies.
