Mark joined the Executive Committee in 1990 and worked tirelessly for the Club until he retired as a trustee in 2023. Among his many contributions to the Club, Mark led our work on water quality and tree management and had a deep knowledge of and commitment to the natural environment at the Lake. Mark was also dedicated to preserving the records and history of the Club and for many years was the custodian and curator of our archive. In his professional capacity Mark developed and managed our membership and booking system until his retirement last year.
Some of you will know Mark personally and more of you will have spoken to or seen Mark during the many, many hours he spent at the Lake each year. His contribution to our Club and our treasured landscape has been immense and we will all enjoy the legacy of his work for years to come. He touched every part of the place that we all love and we honour and thank him for that.
