Facilities

The following facilities are available.

Disabled access - We are a semi wild site and access varies across it. We currently have a level access portable toilet and changing facility. We have been working with Wecil (Supporting Independent Living) to understand the needs of those with varying disabilities and are factoring these in to an ongoing long term facilities project. If you have specific access requirements please do contact josie@henleazeswimmingclub.org

Parking - We do not have a car park but do have a small number of spaces for disabled access or those with very limited mobility. These must be booked in advance please telephone 0117 9620696.

Indoor change - Cubicles and communal changing for women is on the left and for men is on the right. There are also some gender-neutral cubicles. All areas are clearly sign posted on the notice board as you enter.

Toilets and showers  - These have toilets and a shower; entrance for women is on the right and men on the left.  There will be an improved portable level access toilet with changing facility coming soon, situated just past the office. This does not have a shower facility. (NB Toilets and showers are being remodelled in the facilities development project).

Diving stage and springboard
Open for use but please bear in mind the following:

  • If you do not dive and come back down the steps you must come down backwards holding onto the handrails and facing into the steps. Any juniors you bring to the Lake must also be made aware of this.
  • Please ensure you use the diving stages in a safe way so that they can remain open without any incidents.
  • The lifeguards will be monitoring this, particularly in busy periods so please work with them and comply with any instructions they give you. The Lead lifeguard has the authority to close the diving facilities if not being used appropriately or become unmanageable.

Marquees
We have some seating under the marquees, we are pleased to let you know that we have purchased a stretch tent (slightly larger than the one we hired for the gala weekend) which will replace the marquees.

Kitchen

The Club kitchen next to the staff hut will be open for everyone to use. Kettles and microwaves are available. Please ensure you leave the kitchen clean and tidy after use and take all your crockery and cutlery home with you. Please do not store anything in the fridge overnight as it will be thrown away.

Sauna

We have a sauna for adult use only (18+). To help us maintain the sauna wood benches, please adhere to the following rules:

You must bring and sit on a towel and wipe down the benches before use to help maintain them.

Do not wear wet suits or wetsuit boots.

Make space on the top benches for those entering the sauna who may be feeling cold.

Close doors behind you. Always ensure the sauna door remains closed.

Do not hold conversations during silent sauna times.

Please leave the sauna 15 minutes before closing time.

Silent Sauna Slots

During these slots, the sauna is designated for those seeking peace and quiet or who may find noise levels challenging. Please refer other swimmers to the posted signs if they are unaware of the silent time, as staff will not intervene.

30 minute Silent Sauna sessions are available at the following times:

  • 12pm
  • 2pm
  • 6pm

Coffee van
We are so pleased that Chapter and Holmes are returning this year. We have both taken on board your feedback and can confirm the following arrangements:

  • Opening hours Mon – Thurs 11am to 4pm, Fridays 8.30 to 4pm, weekends 10-5pm. They will endeavour to open more widely during good weather and events, but this is staff  and weather dependent!
  • Cups will be provided in May but after that you will be expected to bring your own.
  • If you forget or have a guest who doesn’t have one, there will be a small supply available, but there will be a surcharge.
  • This will cut down on recycling and waste.
